"Most hobby musicians lack focus.
They don't really know what they are working towards so they
have no idea what they should be working on"
- Gjermund Sivertsen, Founder

- Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed over the endless How-To videos that you can find on YouTube?
- Would you like to get good results quicker as a jazz pianist?
- Do you sometimes feel guilty for not taking your music seriously enough?
Many people unfortunally do not play out their potential as a musician.
Anyone who feel the urge to play music is a musician. (Also if you work with something else on a day-to-day basis and have Jazz Piano as your hobby).
To maximize your potential as a musician is an exciting adventure, but you're the only one in charge of your own destiny as a musician.
It's your talent - your responsibility!
You often feel you don't speak the "jazz language" well.
To succeed, you need to figure it out yourself (possible, but requries endless hours of practicing and researching), or you can get someone who can break it down for you, and explain it in pure English. (With some Norwegian accent)
When you explore a new place, it's easy to get lost to wander into unsafe areas and to make unwise decisions. You need a guide. Someone with the experience to show you the way.
I can show you how to get where you want to be with your music - the quickest and funniest way.
"It is my personal goal to help more people achieve musical freedom through their music.
So you can say what you want to say through music."
- Gjermund Sivertsen
RWHEN YOU GET ACCESS TO THE STEP-BY-STEP JAZZ PIANO PROGRAM:
"No more confusion or skipping between thousands of videos at once.
In this step-by-step program you'll start with one rich lesson the minute you sign up.
Why?
The only way to get results is wisdom.
Wisdom is gained by knowledge and practice"
-Gjermund Sivertsen
YOU WILL GET:
HOW TO PLAY BY EAR - Ear training is essential when we play jazz piano. If you don't have well developed ears before you enter this course, they will be during the course when you apply the methods.
That's why we'll study some of the history of Jazz Piano
STYLE STUDIES - We'll study: Stride Piano, Bebop, Cool Jazz, Swing, Modern Jazz, "Free" Jazz, Latin Jazz (Bossa nova, Samba, Bolero etc), "Cocktail" Jazz. Study of the masters such as: Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Art Tatum and many more
In this very first jazz piano lesson, you'll get to know me - and I get to know you.
We'll repeat the basics such as the circle of fifths + a lot of jazz theory and jazz philosophy.
I'll introduce you to our methods and will already now give you spesific things to work on such as jazz piano voicings and more.
Your second lesson will be given to you 10 days after you signed up.
In this lesson we'll cover the basics of swing and harmony.
We'll talk a lot about listening to Jazz (and why it is important) as well as how you can use alterations when you play jazz
In your third lesson we'll work a lot on how to improvise.
Improvisation is the core of jazz, and it is essential that we learn improvisation and develop our improvisation muscles.
In this lesson I will also show you more on how you should practice to get the best results
Just like a baby needs to imitate his parents to learn his mother language, we need to imitate jazz musicians to be able to express ourselves through the "jazz language"
I will show you how you can transcribe in multiple ways.
Also in this lesson we're exploring improvisation over a blues
In this lesson we'll start working on one of two songs. You actually make a decision if you want to work on song A or song B, or maybe if you're tough enough you may handle both of the songs?
We'll use one of the transcribing methods that was introduced in Jazz Lesson 0004.
Also we'll study more of the history of jazz as well as II-V-I progressions
In your sixth lesson we'll continue working on the one song you choosed in lesson 0005.
Also we'll work more on jazz theory and I'm going to teach you a thing you probably didn't know.
We'll work more on practicing scales as well as practicing the voicings you're working on
In jazz lesson 0007 I will teach you how you can think more like a musician.
We'll discuss an important principle: How to work with leading notes (leading tones)
Also, we'll start arrange a tune that we actually are going to write together. (It is going to be fun! Guaranteed!)
I don't know yet if there will be 1000 lessons or not, but I'm determined to create new lessons that are all interconnected as long as I've got motivated students.
We're working to create new lessons every single week!
All the lessons are very rich on content and covers a lot more than outlined here.
We all know that the only way to improve is to practice. How would you feel if an expert showed you exactly how to practice, what to practice, when and where to practice to get the best results?
For the first time ever you are able to sit down to practice together with your teacher. Thanks to fancy technology, we have the ability to slow down the music for you, create loop points as well as outlining everything for you.
Why make practicing harder than it is?
The only thing this course does not do for you is to do the practicing...
...for you.
A: This course tells you the order of what to practice. YouTube is great for getting inspiration, tips and tricks, but it doesn't tell you the best order to work things out. Simply put: We love YouTube and we recommend you also use YouTube to fill up with helpful information.
Still: If you want to see results and get the best order, this course will give you that!
A: No, not needed.
This is a good question that we get a lot before we get new students in, but almost never after a student is in the course. Since the course is a step-by-step program with many new methods, it will take time to master each lesson. If you happen to know some scales/chords or similar that we present in the course and you run out of work, we have a special email address where you can contact us to get more to work on.
"A really good, enjoyable and instructive piano course - by far the best course I have attended."

Finding Gjermund was like finding GOLD! The advantage with him is that not only is he a good musician but an excellent teacher because he has a good structure. I highly recommend him as a piano teacher.
